Front Console Ground Wire

Postby kermit » 24 Apr 2014 11:41

I pulled the front console off to replace the radio and found a black ground wire had come loose and not sure where it goes. The wire comes from the harness (right side of the heater box) that feeds the front console lighting panel, cigar lighter & AC switches.

The lighting panel has a single red/white wire coming out of the same harness but no ground wire.

Should the ground wire be tied into this panel somewhere?

Isn't this the ground, to put on the bolt on the backside of the radio?

Cheers,

The ground from the radio to the chassis bolt is separate.

How is the console lighting grounded?

Took a closer look at the 4 light fixtures on the console bar and noticed fragments from a broken wire on one of the lights. Seems to make sense that there would be one R/W wire and one B wire coming from the loom and connecting to one of the 4 lights. The R/W and B wires then jump over to the other 3 lights.
