UK spec bumper cover

Postby Last TR » 21 Apr 2014 04:20

I bought a UK-spec 3-piece bumper cover from Rimmers. I'm wondering if I should fit the end pieces after installing the center piece on the car? Do the end pieces simply get bolted on, or should I attach them to the center piece with an adhesive of some sort as well?

Hi,

When some numpty cracked my front corner bumper in a car park, IIRC it was a bolt on item.

On a UK car the corner slides under the return of the centre piece, then bolts on. No adhesive necessary. This was a new old stock replacement corner.

The Rimmer Bros website takes their exploded diagrams straight out of the official parts book so its always worth a look. They get blasted on the forum for their service sometimes but their parts book and on line diagrams are the best available IMHO.

USA spec cars have completely different part numbers for the bumper irons and covers and look different from the diagrams.

I like my US rear bumper. Good place to set a beer if I forgot my little picnic table.[:D]
