Carpet

Postby DNK » 15 Mar 2014 20:01

In keeping with the seat thread I'm working on I decided I might as well finish my interior.
I asked about the green carpet w/ the Tartan seat covers and most like it.
So if I go with the Tartan seats.
Now I can change any color on the bolsters ,but I figured staying with black, What do you think for a binding color on the carpet.
Here are the choices

I would go with black binding on the carpets to mirror the seats or stay with green binding with green carpet. You don't want to introduce another colour into the interior.

I'd go black , but just for reference what colour is the plastic trim on yours black or grey?

Ron.

It's all personal preference but I'm with Ron. Yellow TCT has a CAAA interior which is plain tan door cards, carpets and seats but the rest is black (shift boot, knee pads, centre consul) which is how I like it. Green would be interesting and different but my personal preference is black as they stand out too much other wise and seem out of place.IMHO.

I agree with matching the binding color to the carpet.

Has anybody re-carpeted their interior without using an edge binding - similar to the way it came from the factory? I think it looks good when the seams to disappear.

OK...
Think I'm ready to pull the trigger
As Darrell said to me
"Wish they still made Molded"

1 last decision-
So the consensus is match biding to carpet color.
Yes?

Last carpet I bought was from VB. Black. It is fairly thick with a jute backing. It was not the economy stuff like I previously bought but the more expensive line. It came with no visible binding.

Just thought I'd throw out the non binding option.

So I bought the carpets from Prestige on 4/8.
They arrived yesterday 4/17.
Very quick customer service.
I have not open the box yet , think I'll lay them out in my daughters room as it is pretty large and I can possibly configure them as they lay in the car.
They came by postal mail which surprised me as I figured UPS.
Was involved with a discussion about this company in the 6Pack and the thought that they collected a tariff on delivery was the remembered occurrence.
Welcome to see ,no extra charges on delivery.

Only thing that dawned on me later was I should have bought the pads and snap kit too.
What do you guys think??
