Broadside nose

Thought I had seen most variations on the Tr7 theme until I stumbled across the following whilst having a meander through the interweb:

The photo of interest is the white Broadside 2+2 in the bottom left hand corner.

Has anyone any info on the "nosecone" on that car? I've never seen any photos of it before. It certainly seems to "tidy up" the front end.

I've had that image saved for a decade or so as well!

Even for someone who likes shorter noses it is very good looking.

Put the hardtop back on it with the standard Sprint motor and I'll bust open the piggy bank to pay cash for it.

Is it available in Wimbledon White with a tan interior?

Thanks for posting that picture. I had never seen that one before. That might have just replaced the viper as my favorite front end modification.

Is this a real car, or just photoshop?

Never saw that TR8A front end before. Makes it look more modern, actually makes it look like a Ferrari type design on the front. One of the few front end designs I like although it does take it out of the "unique" category and into the "other people have done it" category.

Pages 220 to 224 of David Knowles "TR7 The Untold Story". Anyone who doesn't have this book needs to get a copy. All the detail you could want on this last ditch Micho effort to get an updated TR7 style ready for 83/84 is in those pages.

The Broadside had a slightly longer wheelbase which was a half way house between a Lynx and a TR7. Norman Rose (Triumph Body Engineering Executive) still has the photos to prove it.

This one (the 5th car down in Clay's post) has absolutely nothing to do with Triumph.



It's a Leyland Force 7V, by Leyland Australia.
There were only 8 pre production cars sold to the public at auction, one over in the UK for evaluation and one donated to a museum after Leyland Australia went t!ts up. @ 50 more were crushed!

These had a 4.4 litre V8 derived from the RV8.
