My rear spoiler is not of the same type you're thinking of. Mine is from an early 80s firebird/camaro. See signature pic.

I have one like in fastmans post. All I have to do now is take of the old glue and put it back on. That is a job tor later down the road though.

A TR7 I owned previously had an RS2000 spoiler bolted to the boot...it looked like it belonged there.

The problem is you can buy a full TR7 for the price of a decent RS2000 spoiler, don't be tempted to buy the copy Australian made RS2000 ones that are now available as they are rubbish and are completely the wrong shape.

Definitely a personal preference item. To me the only right look is no spoiler. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti spoiler. I made them put one on my 1991 Integra before I drove it off the show room floor as they don't look right with out one....but not on the 7. Luggage rack is OK, not that I'd ever use one and don't need the extra weight on the trunk lid fighting the gas lifts although de rigueur for the 30th Anniverdaty Edition.

Craig that is my absolute favorite spoiler for a TR7!

Did it fit well out of the box , or did you have to trim it down ???

One of my 7s had one of these spoilers on it when I bought it. It convinced me to never fit one.

The adhesive used seal it, or help hold it down had failed. Water had been leaking in around the bolts, which were now all that held it on.

The boot/trunk lid was beyond salvation from the rust in it & the reinforcing panel, at least in Oz. Perhaps a pom would have patched it up. It also had rust in the spare wheel well, & one of the lower guard sections. This was in an otherwise rust free car, & the only 7 I've had with rust.

I can't see much use for spoilers. Our 110Km/H speed limit means they will never be of any use on the road, & only offer a possible cause of problems. I have never been one much for decoration.

Ron it was about 3 inches longer but it is flexible rubber (actually came rolled up in a box) so easy to trim to length. It is only held on with double stick tape.
So just trim, paint, stick, and admire. [:)]

As this thread is winding down, here's a slight hijack. So, in OZ, I calculate your speed limit of 110 km/hr equals our 68 MPH. That's fine. 68 MPH is my comfortable TR7 highway cruising speed. I can live with that.

I see your point jeffremj, but I keep my struts pumped up, so mine is not heavy to lift.

Mildred it is only 110 on a limited number of expressways. Most expressways & main country & interstate it is 100. Our UK spec cars really are more comfortable at about 115. My Mercury/Ford Capri likes about 120, which is licence losing territory. If it can't do that, it wants to slow to about 90, otherwise it hunts in & out of overdrive.

The ludicrous thing is, it has a spoiler ex factory. on a car that would struggle to hit 90. at least it doesn't leak water into the boot.
