When I was getting my new tyres a couple of days back there was a young bloke running the office, & programing the work. I had spent a bit of time talking to him on the phone, sorting out something decent from what is left to us 13" users.
Once the paperwork was finished, he took me down to the fitting & balancing area to allocate the job to a fitter. It is a large area with 2, 10 meter roller doors opening up the front of the building
The car was parked facing one of these, & as he saw it, he said, to no one in particular, "Wow, sweet car"! He had never seen a 7, or 8 before. This is not all that unusual, he was probably a few years younger than the car, & there were not that many sold in Oz.
When I stopped at the local village service station for some fuel, on the way home, an old bloke, [probably only 6 or 10 years younger than me], came up with a big smile, saying "gee you've kept that nice haven't you". This one knew what he was looking at, & after a quick once over, he simply said, "very nice, well done".
I haven't driven the 7 as much as usual recently, & had forgotten how often people admire a nicely kept 7. Even the new 40s something cashier lady at the service station said, "UM, nice, I always wanted one of those".
I must remember to remind myself how lucky I am.
