Silverseven, you should check out a color that Mazda used called Montego Blue. We had a 1994 RX7 and Miata M Edition that were both that color. It was a midnight blue/green. In some light it looked blue, in some light it looked green, and at night it could look black or navy. It was metallic.

yeah that's very nice!

I had a 5.0 Mustang that was dark twillight blue , hence the idea [;)]

(once my roof is done this summer, next step is paint, then maybe I can start the preparations for something better under the hood.....[8])

I have to admit that I love the Midas Gold of my TR8, also it is a great colour for not showing it is dirty. I have to agree the dhc look better in lighter colours, like the white with the red interior.

For the FHC, I loved my first coupe in black, when clean and freshly waxed it looked so great under the lights of the city at night (Black cars do look better in shade). But the coupe looks good in most colours, I love yellow, red, blue, orange and even brown.
But I think I am going to paint my next one bright silver as I really like the look of Andrew's car in the magazine article with 924.

You've touched on why I like black as well. In late afternoon/evening you get multi colour reflections and at night you get all sorts of colour reflections off the different colour lights. These were taken late afternoon a few days before my California trip. I had just installed my wind blocker and wanted to get a few picts. In this case you get the sky through the trees in front of the house. That gravel hasn't looked that clean since.

Hi,

With my learned friend Gaz on the FHC, French Blue or failing that I personaly like Topaz or Java green. I like all the colours on the DHC, was never that keen on silver but ended up buying one, case of right car wrong colour ! IF non standard then would love to see one in BMW Carbon Black, it is actually a very dark blue when close but looks black from a distance, I sprayed my Revolutions will it.

You can always ' wrap ' your car then anything is poss. !!! We have some very wild ' wrap jobs ' in at work, seams owning a BMW does not mean you naturally have taste in fact the opposite !

Cheers John

A nice deep maroon metallic would be my choice, with the Champaign colour of some TR8s as second choice.

Yeah really common over here too, they normally wrap over the PDC sensors too so they constantly beep [:o)]

Cheers John

Color is like tires - very strong and differing opinions available.
My 7 is original Russet Brown. A popular 70s/80s color from BL which I really like on a wedge even though I think it looks varying degrees of awful on most other BL models.

I love my Poseidon Green TR8, but if I were to do a complete makeover, I would be tempted to paint it black so the bumpers would match the body.

That would look good Ken.

I bought a 7 some time back that was a very dark blue, with a very little metallic in it. It was fully colour coded, with everything painted the same colour, which looked black in some lights.

The only relief was that the recess in the "grill" area was filled with a silver reflective tape, between the slots.

It sounds terribly bling, but actually looked very smart.

A mate picked it up with me. We took slightly different routes in one area, & came together again at a set of traffic lights. He was stopped on my right, as I came through. When I saw it from the front I thought, "wow, what a great looking car" just before I realised it was the car I had just bought.

I think I must have a bad case of 7 fever.
