Back then, cars were all mostly boxy in shape and the TR7 stood out like a fresh breeze. Now days, cars are all mostly round in shape and the TR7 still stands out like a fresh breeze.

Have to agree with you that the TR7 never looks dated.

Could be anything Andrew I have one sat on my drive registered 82 last on the road 90
Found with the engine out in bits and the odometer reading about 4500 miles

.....so could even still turn up this one did after 23 years

I remember Our Price records. I spent many a Saturday morning in there.[8D] That shop called Woolworth sounds vaguely familiar too.

I also enjoy looking at these period photo's of the day. With hindsight I would of taken a camera out with me everyday and taken a picture evertime I saw a TR7 or BL dealership crammed with unsold TR7s. My biggest regret is when I was in Southampton Docks with my dad, that I didn't take any pictures of all the TR7s lined up on the quay. What a picture that would of made now! [:(]

A seven year lifespan would probably have been quite good for a car of that era. Many cars at that time of all makes were showing significant rust problems after 4/5 years. Cars of that era were usually scrapped because of rust. Not so now. Now it is often because the cost of ECU's and complex electronics renders repair uneconomical. (Of course there are some exceptions, some Mercedes circa 1990's / early 2000's suffered from significant rust but I guess that is for another forum)supercass
