Now the actual engine block is not all that heavy. It's when you add the crankshaft, flywheel, pressure plate & disc, cylinder head, and all the rest of the internals that it all starts to sag your biceps.
The bare block itself, while no mere whistle in the breeze, is just hefty enough to be strong. Besides, lifting engine blocks is all part of an approved cardio-vascular restoration regimen.
