Portland ABFM slide show

Postby Spectatohead » 01 Sep 2013 21:23

Some pictures from this year. I didn't take my time taking photos yesterday due to being preoccupied with my ignition problem. I'm sure FI Spider or someone else will have better ones.

Hi Jim,

Great pictures, thanks for sharing [8D]

A good display of Austin 1100 / 1300 's We would be lucky to get than a couple at the average show over here. Not sure about the Jag with the bonnet cut open, would be no good over here esp in winter !

Cheers John

Great pic's Jim. No need for me to take any. Captures the car show, need more of the racing part of it. I tend to take less pictures as time goes on. Well done.

I missed the awards as we were watching the racing at the time but found my 1st in class beer glass sitting on my car seat as promised.

Yeah, the phone camera doesn't work very well for the action shots at a distance. Maybe I'll have a better phone or a real camera next year.

Don, I don't know if you facebook or not but the All British Field Meet's facebook page has a whole bunch of pictures on it. I'm sorry I didn't get any shots of TR6s. I have owned two of them myself and I do miss them from time to time.

Good pictures Ken, not something I can take with my ancient 1.6 Mega pixel camera, too slow, too low a zoom.

Ken: What are all those Porches & Corvettes and Mustangs doing at the ABFM? Or are the races a separate event?

Thanks Merv. I wish I'd had a better camera when I attended races at Delta Park (Portland International Raceway) back in the '60s. Spectators had much better access in those days before fences and barriers...

As Don points out, the non-British iron is there because the Columbia River Classics and the All British Field Meet are two separate events staged the same great weekend at PIR. The races would have a pretty limited entry if they were limited to Brit cars. As run, it is much like the races back in the day when the best of Europe, North America, and Asia competed.
