handbrake extension

Has anyone made up an extension to handbrake to help leveredge, as I cant get an mot pass, if so would they please explain their procedure.

trummy7, Yes the extensions do help they won't fix brakes that are not working in the first place. Its important to make sure that everything is in good condition and adjusted correctly before you think about the extension route. Have a read of the previous threads and it should help. I got the extensions from Stag76 in Australia, note the ones you see for TR6's etc do not fit on our TR7.

Not sure how long those extensions are but I recently had trouble the the handbrake jamming at about 3 clicks up and not doing anything. I could not see the problem so just changed everything, levers, cable the lot. It now works but I have a problem with the LH cable being tight on the exhaust where it rises over the axle. I know this is partly due to the 'new' tubular manifold I fitted being 2" shorter than the old one so I had to move the rear section forward (although I don't remember having this problem before changing the cable), but longer levers might have the same effect.

(Anyone able to suggest where I can get 6" of 2 1/8" bore pipe to extend the joint on the exhaust)?

saabfast, Go to your local exhaust centre and ask them if you can have a rummage in their scrap pile. It worked for me several times.
