Doesn't tell you an awful lot then for the fee that they charge. I'm surprised that the body number wasn't recorded. supercass

Totally agree - they didn't even get it right first time round - not worth the money really.

I have the original window sticker that was on the car in the show room (as well as the original manuals that came with the car). Can't get better than that other than maybe the original bill of sale from the dealer. Can't have everything.[:p]<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

I almost have it all, Merv... I have the original bill of sale, the original manuals that came with the car, and a window sticker that John Manske was sweet enough to doctor up for me from his original. :-)

I also have the original sales contract, books, and warranty card, but have never seen the window sticker ......

Anybody care to scan theirs ??

Ron.

It would be nice, in this modern world we live in, if they could offer just an email with the pertinent data. Anybody can make an official looking document. Does the company these come from carry some sort official status or anything like that? Is it a big deal to have a document from them?

Motor Heritage in now owned by the UK Nation & has all the Production records available for the Motor UK Industry - mostly Austin, Morris, Triumph Jaguar etc.

Many people use the service to get proof of their car when they are reimported back into the UK to allow them to get the original registration back / prove it was built in UK for Import taxes etc.

Also cars which have lost their identity but have some scrap of info on it's details - can get full details of a car.

They can sometimes just use the Engine No / or chassis no to get the info.

No it's not a big deal to get a certificate - just fills in a few blanks to it's history.

For me the only thing I didn't know about the car was it's build date.

I could scan mine if I could find it (it's somewhere in this house renovation). I show a copy of it in car shows. I wouldn't be the same as options would be different (being a Spider), the price and other information would be different, ie. FI required, (California car) and of course the dealer info would be different. Perhaps Monica's would be closer being a Federal car?

Was not the date of manufacture stamped on plate attached to door or elsewhere or did early cars not get that?

Merv
