What oils to use for the diff and gearbox?
1) Where is the fill/level plugs?
2) what quantity?
Regards
Steve

My vote based on personal experience would be Motul Gear 300, suitable for both gearbox & diff.

2 litres should do both. Gearbox fill is on the passenger side of the box (UK cars), fill till it reaches the bottom on the filler hole.

IIRC the diff does not have a drain so bit more complicated to suck out the old oil & refill through the same hole.

Gear box (five speed) takes Pennzoil Synchromesh MTF (not the synthetic) or the GM equivalent that Pennzoil makes for them. Drain/fill as stated. Rear takes your favourite diff oil. I add some STP. With Rover diff. either you have to suck the oil out (with syringe), take off rear plate (done only if it's leaking and you're replacing gasket or doing an internal inspection) or if the rear axle is coming out because you're taking out gas tank for example or just painting rear suspension, you can tip it upside down to drain like I did when I did my tank sealing.
