Bonnet damage (keep out of village)

Keep out of the village of Linthwaite nr Huddersfield if you value your body panels.
On Saturday night while I was in a restaurant some low-life scum decided to smash a beer bottle over the bonnet my TR7 it look 3 goes to smash judging by the escalating depth of the 3 dents.[:(!]
Why people stoop this low I will never understand.
Car now booked into bodyshop I just can't live with the damage

Like you I can never understand the motivation to damage or destroy something just because it's a bit different or nice. A warped sense of envy maybe?

I now if going out for a meal on a summers night - find a Pub that I can see the car but mostly just take our modern car as it just has me wound up in case something like your experience happens.

Some people just have know respect for someone else's property. I know it's hard to believe looking at me now. But I could be a bit of a [}:)] as a youngster, but wouldn't dream of doing something as moronic as that. The other weekend I drove down in the TR7 to fareham with my Michelle. We parked in the high street directly opposite a Burger King restaurant(if you can call it that)and went and had an enjoyable afternoon browsing the shops. Upon our return we found the car had been splattered with relish,Brown sauce or something similar. It was all over the car. I was not best pleased I can tell you. At least it only took a bucket of hot soapy water to put things right and not a trip to the bodyshop. I feel for you mate.

Its been going on for years. In the 1980's my FHC was keyed whilst parked underneath the University of Essex (you used to be able to park there - not now though). I was not impressed!

It is not just cars that are a bit special either.

She had only had it a few weeks when my ladies new Mazda 2 was keyed at the local shopping center. It was a new car, & looked as nice as a Mazda 2 could look, but definitely nothing special.

My guess is it was close when some twit had his keys in his hand.

We can only expect this type of behavior to increase, while we have judges that give no more than a light slap on the wrist when offenders are caught.

There is nothing better than taking an open top sports car out on a summers evening, it's a shame when you experience something like this, but as everybody is is saying it's the way of the world, it's been going on for years, I had a Spitfire in 1980 and that was the same then, hood slashed, someone jumping up and down on it.
Anyway thanks for all your encouraging comments.
I'm still going to go out in it, it's not put me off I will just try to be more careful where I go and park.
Car in bodyshop tomorrow.
