Treated the car to a Carb Tune Up by a man with a beard who sets up E-Type Jags & what a difference.
On the way back the clock clicked round with lots of zeros it has never seen in 32 years.
Downhill to the 2nd hand bargain basement now as the value plummets [:D]

Knew the mph speedo's were different on US Cars but how slow was a eye opener compared to the UK version [:0]

Back in the day the national speed limit was 55 mph (to save gas), you can see the special marking at 55, so speedometers were limited to 80 (85). Nowadays the speed limit is set by the individual state with the more highways with over 55 mph, the less federal monies you get for highway improvement, states balance out speed to money. As as result the US roads/infrastructure is crumbling. In the last few days a major bridge on the I5, over the Skagit River, collapsed. I5 is the major North South Westcoast highway connecting California produce to BC.

Not all US cars. Here's what my 75 came with. Quite ambitious!

I've always been curious about the visibility of everyones warning lights. Notice how mine are not visible behind the dark lens. Did you all remove something that I don't know about or is this just another one of the many changes from the early cars?

I guess I should have looked that you posted before going and taking pictures of mine. Being a 75 mine also goes to 140. What threw me off is how short the sweep looks on the 80mph one, I coulda swore mine went further. 89486 Miles 3-5 years and it might hit all Zeroes. But will probably take longer than that.

I always wondered what the top left display was for, Having the darker lenses Trek was talking about Ive never been able to read "Choke" and since mine has Auto Choke the lights never come on.

Actually Mike on my 75 the choke light is 4th from the bottom in the center row and the one on top left is the Rear Demist light. Glows a nice blue/purple when on.

Oh okay, That switch doesn't work and living in Southern California its not necessary enough to warrant replacing. Thanks for the info.
