All very sound advice Greg. Find the best example you can afford & then make sure you maintain it regularly. A FHC is more practical for year round use.
I am fortunate that living in a small town & close to my work, I don't have to make a daily commute - well, only on my bike[:)] I only have my TR7 & TR8, no other car, so one of them is on the road at any time. If I do need to drive anywhere then I have no hesitation in using the TR, it gets used a few times a week.
Over the last 12 months I have actually used the TR8 more, it has been on the road through the winter & has been fine, although I do my best to avoid using it when there is salt on the roads. Regular maintenance checks & thorough cleaning especially of the wheel arches & underside is a must, but if you are prepared to invest that time in looking after the car then you should have no problems.
