Stiff windows!

Postby parrish » 12 Apr 2013 16:23

I have just finished fitting new winder mechanism's and window channel felt to both doors on my TR8.
Not a difficult job, just fiddly and you need to remember to undo the channel guides front and rear to give you some play with the glass, what a difference its made windows now gliding up and down, perfect.
A job well worth doing.

Some but not too much or the window will "cock" and make it difficult to roll up.

In my experience there's a fine line between having them tight enough to avoid rattles, and having them so tight that you strip the teeth on the winder gear due to the effort required. supercass
