I carried on reading the link, it seems that the TR, as well as the other cars may have become sealed in following the partial collapse of the tunnel.

On a slightly different note about TR7s, I remember hearing years ago of one of a Speke built TR7 being placed into a sealed but viewable chamber on a roundabout in Liverpool...anybody else heard of this story or was it just bull back then about 20 odd years ago?

There was a yellow fixed head in a glass case, surrounded by "impenetrable" metal fencing on the retail park on the site of the Speke factory outside the TR7 store.

I believe that some undesirables managed to breach the security and vandalise the car (which wasn't in wonderful condition anyway).

I last saw it 1999 and I think it's long gone.

Cheers

Graham

Hi sp2boy.

I take it from your comment that you're not a member of the TRDC.
PM me your address and I'll see if I can find a spare back-copy of that particular edition for you. No promises - we don't generally print more than we need!

Regards Maxwell [;)][:(]

I was offered the car when it came out of the glass case. It was in quite good condition but as Graham says it had been vandalised. It was not a complete car and had no identity. It was Inca yellow.

Not being familiar with Liverpool I wasn't expecting to recognise the site, but I did! The end of the tunnel in the sandstone comes out by the old docks, where all the car dealers are now.

You can see the entrance to the tunnel from the car park of the Jag dealer.....

Thanks for the link. I also liked the Moggie there as well.

Cheers
Stu
