Postby RUDDY » 14 Mar 2013 10:30

As there was nothing else on TV I was forced to watch a Hammer House of Horror movie, nice to see a TR driven by the main character .

It's from the TV series circa 1980. This was one of the better episodes, not only did we get to see a cool car but also a rather buxom witch with not a lot on. So no wonder our paul was watching. I've got the dvd box set [}:)]

I was watching Dudley Moores "10" on Friday and was delighted to see a green FHC parked at the kerbside. Don't remember seeing it when I watched the film the last time but that was 30 years ago ( admittedly there are one or two other distractions in the movie in the same scene!)

Another TR7 on TV today.
Current showings of the New Avengers in Canada from 1977 has them running around in a TR7.
Its a dark red coloured coupe, 4-speed, with a vinyl roof and registration number MHF292. It has a white stripe with a large TR7 logo at the rear.

Also noticed a very nice BRG Healey 3000 just parked in the street with the roof down as they went past.

Yes, the soundtrack is a bit iffy at times and the plots are dreadful but its a real memory trip seeing all that "modern" stuff at the time.
Loved that fact they they are secretly following someone using the red TR7, that wouldn't stand out much would it?
I must say that Joanna Lumley standing under the sprinklers in some flimsy clothes was also a bit distracting yesterday.

"Loved that fact they they are secretly following someone using the red TR7, that wouldn't stand out much would it?"

I have some real-life experience of tailing a fraudster for three days many moons ago in my TR7 fhc. This involved following him as he took his government (health service) van, filled it up with fuel using the government credit card, emptied the tank, stored the contents for sale and repeated the process ad nauseam.

Anyway, the point is that after three days of being tailed by a reasonably distinctive TR7, his response on being confronted was "have you been following me?"

I rest my case...

Cheers

So last night and tonight I watched a new programme, South Beach Classics, its about a classic car dealer in Florida I think. Anyway last night I spotted a yellow TR7 in the background on his forecourt, tonight he had the car at a show.

It appears to have the dealer fit option stripes on ?
