I now know that i have found the problem so will try and get another Pektron unit but if i new what diode to get i would fix this one and have it as a spare.
my D4 diode is black so i have no idea what it should be.

I just bought a generic 5 amp 600v diode which is quite a bit bigger than the original and seems to work fine.

Thanks all I have pop up lights again just bought the diode and soldered it in and they worked big smile on my face now

I had this problem recently & checked everything even fitting a new relay did not help. The answer was that the spade connectors onto the relay( inside that most stpid of designs the fuse box) were not pushed on all the way home & required recrimping.
