50f in January...why yes I will go for a spin.

Postby trekcarbonboy » 20 Jan 2013 21:16

Beautiful (and unusual) 50f here in Pennsylvania for the past 2 days. Car hasn't been out for 1 month due to bad weather and salt. I had to put some air in one tire and crank it a few times but then it started right up. Took it to visit family then stopped at the local lake for a few pics at dusk. I wish it would stay like this (or warmer) for the rest of the winter but that certainly won't happen.

I'm glad I don't deal with the whole tax/no tax thing you Brits do. I would hate to not have the opportunity to take advantage of nice days like these.

Nice pics. You'd be mad if you didn't take advantage of these opportunities.

I have occasionally wondered how much any of our members save by locking their cars up for 6 months. I can't imagine doing it my self, but of course, I have no idea of the conditions they live with.

beautiful pics, your a lucky man to be able to use your car almost year round!
I'm not that far north from you and with the good dumping of snow this year and cold temps of January through March my seven is enjoying a seasonal break. As I've mentioned before the stupid winter tires laws also kinda keep the summer cars hibernating from mid December to mid March. Hopefully it will melt quickly !!!

We're in the 40's and been dry for going on over a week, checked the potted trees to see if I had to water them (they were OK.) I thought of going to the club meeting with the 7 but I've got her topped up and STA-BIL in the gas tank so used the Integra. If this keeps up I'll be tempted.[8D]

Nice pics Craig - you have better weather than us Brits right now, the whole country is struggling to get above 0C during the day, and snow & ice are affecting many areas.

Is your car Astral Blue? I love that colour ...

It's been weird weather here. Last week it hit 60F up at the ski areas on the mountain while it was in the low 30s and foggy down in the valley. I've been out at the beach since Friday and it has been sunny and in the 40s or 50s. Unfortunately the car is back in the foggy cold valley. It is supposed to get back to the normal rain down low and snow up in the mountains in the next couple days.

It is General Motors, Bahama Blue. You can't tell in the pics but it is in dire need of a re-spray. Originally the car was French Blue (and quite oxidized) but that was just too pale for my taste.

All good things must come to an end... 18f when I awoke this morning and not much better now. Snow on the way tonight! [:(]
