Its taken a while but I have finally started writing up those records of the final years of the Canley TR7, and TR8 development fleet, and its disposal;

What a nice piece of work & I think all fans of the TR7 / 8 will follow your progress on recording this important information.
Finishes off the info after the Bill Piggot info.

Know it takes time to record all the info - it will be appreciated by the TR 7 / 8 community [:D]

[:D] WELCOME TO THE BEST TR7 / 8 FORUM IN THE WORLD EVER [8D]

Very intresting stuff [8D] thank you for sharing with us. I was on the TRDC stand at the N.E.C. and got chatting to a gent who has a MGB ( sorry for the bad language [:p] ) with an 'O' series in it as fitted by the factory, apparently they made several all but his destroyed during crash testing. Intresting his is fitted with fuel injection too, did give him my email address but nothing yet.

Important work. All this stuff should be memorialized as it is so easy for it to slip through the cracks to be lost forever.

I spoke to the Heritage Centre about 18 months ago regarding getting prints from their negative library.

IIRC the cost for a full size print (10 x 8?) was £25. They would also supply as hi res JPEG for the same cost, as long as it was for personal use only (i.e. no commercial reproduction). The very helpful lady I spoke to did however send me a few thumbnails free of charge, as a kind of preview to ensure that the pictures in question were what I wanted.

I've always wondered if any cars escaped with an "O" series engine, obviously not. It would be good to convert one back to an "O" series, has anyone got anything on a heritage certificate mentioning such fitment?

Many cars were registered by the factory in 1982 with concurrent Coventry registration numbers (AAC, YAC etc.), I wonder whether these were the "O" series cars?

I think most of the block cars were just registered and than sold off to boost cars sales.

The common ones are AAC???X, KON???W YAC???X

I have owned KON169W Argent Silver FHC and YAC166X Silver Leaf DHC fitted with a V8.

Dave, on your webpage you ask if anyone is interested in the 2V engine cars on the engineering fleet.

Well I for one would love to see that info. I agree your typing finger deserves a rest over the festive break, but maybe you can return to the final instalment in the New Year.
