Mark Parsons video - one of best wedge drivers

Postby sydney.wedgehead » 14 Dec 2012 17:07

I've just stumbled upon some great in-car video of Mark Parsons pushing his wedge hard round 6 laps of the Taupo NZ long track (reverse direction) as part of the 2012 Taupo 2WD Rally.

It's just so fantastic to see how well he manages so close to the limits that you must take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=It8Vsv7uO04

Mark must be right up there with Tony Pond as one of the best-ever wedge drivers!

In the 1997 Targa Tasmania he drove to 3rd outright, 1st in Class, 1st on Handicap, and got coverage on the national TV news here in Aus due to the audio-visual splendor.

Wish I had the same skill.

Some nice passing. Reminds me of our trip down the California Highway #1 (except for the reverse input skids).[:p] Except there, it was hundreds of feet down on one side.

I don't wanna do that with my car,
think everything is broken with the landing.

I have seen Mark Parson's racing and he is just....Just....words can't describe his performance, I think he is one man in a TR7 V8 that makes his car do what he wants it to do. He drives his TR7 V8 like I used to do with my dinky toys when I was a little lad just dreaming of being a racing driver...(Not that I think Mark Parsons was born when I used to dream...)However I can watch his driving and listen to the sound of the TR7 V8 all day long [8D][8D][8D][8D]
