I had a little bit of a stumbling block for my winter palns. I had my appendix removed and missed a few weeks of good hours and pay for work. I was hoping to move my TR8 from my existing garage to my hopefully new garage I am trying to break ground on. I think having 26'x30' of open space will be nice to get me motivated to get the 8 out of a 11 year hybernation!

I don't know about Ron but while I'm sure I would appreciate the kick in the pants of a V-8 (especially after watching your video) I like the fact that it doesn't matter if I take the Spider or the Integra, they get the same gas mileage if I keep it legal (90 kph) not so much if it creeps higher probably thanks to the Integra's auto trans lock up over 80-90 kph that keeps it's mileage till about 110 kph. True our gas is less than your's by far and but still higher than US it's all relative I guess and depends what you're used to paying. I notice the lower gas mileage of the 1500cc carbed 4x4 Tercel so would hate to see what the V-8 would do. One the other side of the coin I don't put a lot of mileage on the cars, being retired and living on a (big) Island so gas isn't a big expense but an expense none the less.

As for driving in this weather, Sunday wasn't too bad so took the opportunity to have a quick spin around the lanes near me. Not much too look at, sorry, bit boring but have stuck it on youtube if anyone fancies a gander gave me [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] anyway lol

There's a blind summit coming up that's followed by a long sweeping left hander opening onto a straight for about a mile, exciting, yep maybe, costly definitely! If you look closely on the right just before the clip ends, you can make out the GATSO speed camera sign [:(!] bloody nanny state!
The petrol thing, i suppose its just what you're used to paying. There were protests a few years ago but achieved little. Just have to take it on the chin.

Would just like to add, couldn't have gotten this far without the help, motivation and knowledge shared by all of you on this and one or two other forums. Thanks a million, its pretty heartwarming that when you're struggling with a snapped off bolt or can't seem to fathom out why you've got another problem after x problems you'd just fixed, that someone somewhere has been there and done it before and will help you tackle it. A problem shared is a problem halved lol

Thanks for that bula. Your post helps to confirm a theory that I've had for some years now.

You say no 55MPH wobble, with your MG F wheels. These are I believe stud centric, bolted on with conical nuts, thus centering on the wheel studs very accurately.

I know a couple of people with these wheels, also with no wobble. My TR7's wheels, with tubular nuts are hub centric, & require on car balancing. My TR8 has conical nuts, thus stud centric wheels, & gives no trouble with balancing.

The great soundtrack of Bula's video makes me want to take the 7V8 out on the road right now..........it's taxed all year round.

But all the roads around me are freshly salted and and I fear the car will dissolve around me...........
