Everyone hybernating for the winter?

Not much activity on the forum lately. I guess with all the cars garaged no one is having any problems.

Mine's ready for the next dry road (not in near future) last used last Thursday to go to club meeting (100+ km trip).

Only thing to do is take off lower windscreen finisher to strip and repaint as I accidentally sprayed some brake cleaner fluid on it. Way down on the to do list. If I really get antsy I can pull off the rear bumper to POR-15 the metal part and replace rubber cover mounting screws (also not at top of list).

First winter in 6 years I didn't have a must do winter TR7 projects list. Good thing as I've got plenty to do in house reno projects.

I generally dont "put 'em up" for the winter, drive em whenever I can all year long [8D]
Annnd....oh, trust me. I have repairs to perform! Head gasket is weeping a little now, which worries me [:(] Master cylinder has been leaking fluid (new one is on the way!) Im petrified my OEM plastic clutch line is gonna burst before I can find the time to install my new SS-braided one. Oil pump needs to be replaced with the new one I have. Tires need re-balancing. And the carb's have been seeping fuel, time to pull 'em off and refurbish them. Other than those, I keep and will keep driving her, cold weather or not [:D]

View from the office window. (a little redundant for those on facebook) Drove it to work yesterday. Beautiful unseasonably warm 60f day. Lots of twisty back roads. [:D] Just have to watch for deer on the way home.
It did start out leaking coolant from the connector pipe under the intake but once it warmed up it stopped leaking. I guess I'll put those o-rings on the list of winter projects.

Hell no! Only just got the thing on the road after a long time trying. Been having toooooo much fun ha ha. Have to be extra careful though, had boost kick in just as I was exiting a greasy leaf strewn corner the other day. . . . . Twitchy bum moment! Learning curve, definitely.
Sat in the works loading bay tonight sheltering from the extremely wet West country weather!

***snow*** in the forecast for the first week of December so this will prolly be the last weekend for the wedge this year. (either way the winter tire law kicks into effect the 15th of Dec anyways , so why pay for an extra month of plates for two weeks of use?)+ the Hyundai is back on the road now so the 'rumph has officially become a third car again ...

I have to work Friday this week, so if it's nice I'll drive the Seven in and give her the last wash and fluid top up until spring .... and maybe a nice little ride back home by the lakeshore !!!

Summer here, but mine has been off the road for so much of the last year what with fitting air conditioning, a new paint job, & now an engine rebuild, I'm planning lots of driving when it is back on the road.

With any luck that should be this weekend WHOOOOO HOOOO.

Hasbeen.

It's in the garage (as always) and last driven on Oct 1 (when it had its biannual MOT test), before that
it was driven once or twice in August... Since we've had icy roads on lots of mornings during the last
month or so (despite 5-10C during the days) we also have lots of brine to wade through for the cars
- so ... no Wedge driving before the late spring rains have hosed that off the roads.

PS
As a comment to Ron's comment on snow/winter tyres: In Sweden it's compulsory to have those fitted
between Dec 1st and March 31st (and steel spiked/studded tyres are allowed between Oct 1st and
April 15th). But, (there's always a but isn't it?) cars 30 years or older + cars with rims 10" or smaller - are
excempt and can use whatever tyres all year round if anyone is foolish enough to drive such a car
on wintery roads...

Decided to hibernate mine for the winter in the garage for the first time ever.Trying to fight the urge to tax it whenever the rain stops... I guess this is what it must feel like to try and stop smoking lol.

Mine is now layed up for the winter but it won't be idle as there is a long list of jobs to do. First job has already been started, I've removed all the trim to inspect the floors and inner sills, I'm happy to report its completely corrosion free so its being treated to a new carpet set.
Its then going to be having a new water pump so I'm going to use it as an excuse to strip the carbs and dizzy while its all in bits, I'm toying with throwing a new rad in for good measure.

Good idea to do what needs be done while the parts are off the car. I personally would leave the rad unless it's leaking. They tend not to blow but give you plenty of warning before they have to be replaced (enough to finish off a season). The same can't be said for rad hoses so I would replace those of they are iffy since they are relatively cheap and you don't want to blow one at an inopportune moment.
