Is there any other ducting in front of the wheelarch etc or does the air flow naturally?

I am thinking they cold make the footwells in my v8 cooler in the summer.

The project begins! I got the set of vents on eBay, they are on their way and should be here Friday. Ordered a new set of vinyl footwell covers with the holes already in them from VB. The panels look great and seem to be well made. I laid the old panels on top and traced the door opening edge onto the new ones, they provided ample extra length of material for this. After removing the original panels there were blanking plates riveted in place. I just drilled out the rivets and removed the panels. So now I'm waiting with tools in hand for the UPS guy!

My FHC came with AC so I never knew these even existed, Living in Southern California I'm not sure I would ever close them. We took the AC unit out when we got it since it wouldn't come on and I didn't think it necessary. but a breeze from the foot wells would make it a whole lot more comfortable. Does anyone know if they are available stateside anywhere the only set on Fleabay right now look fairly rusty.

It's a healthy high pressure in there - due to car movement alone.

It would be nice if the air flowed when you were stuck in traffic on a 90 degree day. Once you start moving it makes a huge difference, especially if you are wearing sandals. [;)]

You could rig up some 12 volt computer fans, that would keep it flowing, count even run it through a switch so it doesn't run when its not needed.

I thought I might just mount a pair of the above in the existing blanking plates, any thoughts?

Looking good - looks like we have started a trend.

Dont forget that the extra vinyl should wrap round the A post under the door seal to hold it into place.

Cheers

Bit of a chill while driving to work this morning. 29f and the vents where open. Easy enough to close the drivers side while driving but not so easy for the other side. Brrrrrr [:I]

Took the car to the club meeting Thursday night as it's been dry (100+ Km round trip) with temp's just below double digits C. It was surprising that the cabin didn't warm up with just the motion of the car through the air, heater on full. I had to turn on the fan and have it run on low. Coming back (9:30pm) I went through a fog patch that froze on the windscreen and had to move the lever from car to screen. Glad I didn't have any foot well doors to add any drafts.

Well I knew it was too good to be true! I'm not real happy with these new vents. The holes do not match up with the ones the blanks were riveted to. I know I can drill new ones, but I really don't want to end up with a lot of holes in the outside wall like that. Plus, the holes are close, but not close enough, and drilling new holes may be too close to the existing ones, blowing out everything. Also, when I test fitted everything, the latches that hold the vents closed come outside the hole in the trim panel and clamp down onto the trim panel. I'm just not loving the way that looks. I'm thinking I'll be putting these back up on Ebay and keeping an eye out for some originals.

Anyone interested in these?!

Randy

Hi Randy,

Sorry to hear your problems, seems so common on remanufactured parts not fitting , not that the original stuff was that good !!!

If you relist then do so with UK postage costs !!

Cheers John
