Footwell vents

Has anyone tried these? I'm interested in converting my non-vented 7 into a vented one.

My lady is one of those frog like people, who can't stand the cold.

Some time back when she was in the FHC with me, in our winter, [probably about 15F] she asked me to close the vents. I then promptly forgot I had done so.

Come spring, as it warmed a little, I could not understand why the car felt stuffy & uncomfortable. This was with one side of the pop up sunroof open, & the windows at about half down.

Being very quick on the uptake, after only a couple of weeks of wondering why the car was not as nice to drive in spring as I expected, I remembered the vents.

Once they were opened happiness returned.

Since then I have fitted air conditioning, which makes the car much nicer in our hot summers, but I've found I can still leave those vents open, & get the best of both worlds.

I use my vents all the time during the summer roof up or down !
-only closing them up for the last month or so of driving....

I like my vents a lot. It is really nice to have fresh air blowing on your feet on a hot day.

In Oz it was all non air conditioned cars. They were deleted in the air con cars.

I have these in my car (California car never made over the pond)- even in our cold and damp country I find them very usefull.

S&S had at least one set of the originals for sale at this years TR Register International meeting.

Thanks everyone. I'm just looking to help cool off the interior during these Florida summers and it sounds like this is the way to go. I'm assuming I could paint these as that bright shiny finish is a little much.

But the blanking plates can easily be changed for opening flaps, <u>the</u> work involved is adapting the trim pieces.
Priceless to have even up here in Santaland...

S & S also had the trim pieces for sale for just a couple of pounds each.
Not worth making them yourself at these prices.

I hav eonly seen them in non-A/C equipped wedges Ive owned. My current 7 is a non-A/C car and has em. I like em! Keeps air flowin thru the cockpit while in motion. If I had another A/C-wedge, I would probly opt to install those in it too. Jus Sayin [8D]
