Phil Humphries and I spoke the other day so we're looking at possibilities.

I thought the picture was from 1978. If so, why is there a TR6 in the shot? John Buffum's rally car in the background suggests this was to celebrate his 1977 North American Rally Championship so why the TR6? But I agree, it would be great to have TR6s and other cars on the stand. I'm also looking at the possibilities of getting a Triumph Dolomite Roadster so we can show the first and last of the TRs. What a stand that would make.

I think It's a Spitfire, not a TR6.

John think you are totally right - is it a Tahati Blue Spitfire.
Might be easier to cut the picture down than find a Big bumper Spitfire but ...
TR6 's had wrap around lights at the rear plus a ridged overrider rather than a smooth one on the Spitfire [V]

I'll be there on Friday and Saturday. We have some special guests visiting the TRDC on both of these days - and hopefully one very special guest on the Friday but I can't say any more on-line, you'll just have to wait and see.

I can't really say any more but if this person does come to visit us as planned then we need to get some photos so we can do a write-up in the TR Driver. Quite a history can accompany a few images. Fingers crossed everybody. This sort of thing just doesn't happen with any other Triumph club so we're all in the right one... well, most of us on here anyway. We will of course pass any worthwhile article and pictures onto our affiliates at the TWOA in the US and TR7IG in Germany. The TRDC is on your side!

Cheers
