Anything is possible but at a cost - long ramps x 2off = 300 quid but the Americans do it better with lightweight ramps.
Small clubs as usual will just have a carpark stand with a gazzebo as who can afford props & transport.

Enquiring about a set of US ones to be sent over as ideal for the TR7.

No wonder Car Clubs feel like they are getting ripped off in my mind by NEC Events & such like - you want a good show - pay the exhibitors & see the change plus no doubt attendances.
Roy's idea is just what the show needs [;)]

Good luck to those who are spending next weekend at NEC showing their cars hope you get reinbused something or is it off your own back [?]

I can't speak for other clubs but in the TR Drivers Club we're all volunteers Neil. But there is a satisfaction from showing your own car at something so prestigious and it is also a great way to meet other enthusiasts and club members. Unlike a lot of shows now at least we're not charged to have a stand.

I like those ramps. I think we could cover some ordinary ramps and make them look very good. You're on the right track there.

My driveway is steeper than that but the ebrake holds just fine as the car is idling while I position the boards and bricks in front of the front tires so I can roll it up the ramps for oil change or under front end inspection etc. I do have to make sure the handle is pulled taught though.

When I used to be a member of the Morris Marina's Owners Club many moons ago (no laughing please!), I did have a TC after all. We would spend the best part of the year organizing stands for some of the more prestigious events such as the NEC; from planning a theme to building and finding the props.
I remember one year we created a 1970's lounge, complete with lava lamp, brown draylon sofa, and shag pile carpet and then plonked the odd Marina about and we won the best stand at the show. Simple but very effective. The idea being that the Marina, just like the TR7, has a hard core following of devoted fans but is not universally appreciated by the majority of the classic car fraternity.
By creating such a stand, you would be showing the car in the best possible light and bringing it to the attention of the classic car press; and in turn hopefully attract new devotees to the TR7 marquee. The Morris Marina Owners Club recognised this and Marina prices are on the up. You couldn't buy a decent TC for under Â£2500 now and to think I paid Â£300 for mine all those years ago. Thank goodness we have John Clancy who has tirelessly promoted the TR7 over the years and deserves huge praise and thanks for his efforts. So let's show those fantastic TR7's and TR8's and the odd TR6 if you must [:p] within the club, in the best way possible. So then, who's got some ramps for NEC 2013 that they could lend the club?! On the other hand, not sure that ramps will give the correct visual impact; they really are quite shallow by comparison with the original.

Is there a scaffolding company in the area who might want to get involded for a bit of publicity: A triangulated construction, and the cars will sit happily on Scaffold-boards, and could be chained down to appease the HSE guys....

Hi,

We have one of these at work, you drive up on it whilst it is tilted back and then pivots forward,(watch the alimation and demo video ) only done it once and very daunting just before it tips esp in Â£30k+ BMW [:0], but no reason why it cant be left in the tilt postion, chances of borrowing it though low, chance it going in the boot of my car none !!

Morris Marina was my "Mystery Car of the Month" car at last club meeting. According to Wikipedia of the 807,000 cars built only 1,000 are estimated to have survived. Might have something to do with price increases.[:p]
