Dynabeads for tire balancing?

Postby RJS » 13 Oct 2012 17:05

Anyone ever try this product?

http://www.innovativebalancing.com/index.php

I was talking to a miata owner yesterday, and he was talking about many miatas having vibration around 60 mph (sound familiar).

He swears by these dynabeads for both his miata and motorcycle, and I was curious if anyone has tried them on a wedge.

We all talk about on car wheel balancing, but I cannot find a shop that still does that, so I am curious if this might be a solution.

Give it a try and report back. Don't have a problem myself so wouldn't do any good for me to try.

There always has and will always be all kinds of snake oil out there to remedy the worlds ills.

"Properly balanced tires run cooler, place less stress on suspension components, and can even increase fuel mileage."

You start with a mild truism to psychologically ease the path towards the con. It says to pour the tiny magic beads into the valve core where they will swirl around to counteract the imbalance of the revolving mass, i.e., the wheel. Yeah, right!

If you believe that, then you will surely come knocking on my door for my special blue potion made from eye of newt, nose of frog, lizard lips in a solution of 80% alcohol and food coloring guaranteed to remove warts, calm dyspepsia of the transcendence, and restore hair along with fading manly vitality for the cost of $9.00 a bottle or $49.95 per jug.

I wonder if the beads in the tire will make a whizzing noise as you drive down the street?

There is an MGB on the site for a testimonial. Sounds like it would be worth a try.
