Site hassles

Postby DNK » 21 Sep 2012 21:59

What is up with this site lately.
Been very slow and very slow loading threads.
I turned a 7 owner on to it and he couldn't even log on or try to sign up
Might have lost him

A little slow at times but not too bad. It happens. Photobucket had been down for a couple of days and couldn't load my pics from Victoria Air Museum trip. Loaded fine today so I'm going over to Events to load the slideshow (not long). See you there.

I thought it was just me. I have noticed slowness both at home in Vancouver and here at the beach. Other sites I frequent don't seem to be affected.

I was finally able to access the site. Though it took some effort. I had an old account but it would not work. Tried to reset the PW and the system kept telling me it was sending an e-mail. Which meant the system knows the account and the e-mail was correct (name and e-mail required to reset PW). Never sent an e-mail.

So I created a new account (NABMS) which worked for a couple of hours then quit. Could not log back on, could not reset PW. Recreated the account identically and it worked. And I did get the "welcome" e-mail from that. So I know the site is capable of sending e-mail and I can receive it.

It was also exceeding slow it was taking 5 minutes to load the search page, not the results page the actual search input page.

Seems to be working better now, but still cannot reset my old account.

Oh and BTW- the only help that I could find while not logged in bounced. The auto link for help was moderator@triumphtr7.com.com which I did not notice till now the double .com.com.

Definitely a good amount of data and already found what I needed related to SU carbs and engine tilt on the TR7.

Thanks,

Dave B (AKA alabama-hokie if I get the account fixed)
