That does look very nice, Steve.

Did Carmel start life down here in Dorset (that is life after Solihull)? I thought the registration *LJ is a Dorset (Bournemouth) number?

I just looked thru the paperwork (not much)and it seems the car spent most if not all it's life in Kent.

It appears that it was supplied by Henleys (South West) Ltd. Southampton Road, Salisbury to Trebor Ltd. Woodford Green, Essex, I see that Trebor became Trebor Bassett and then Cadbury Trebor Bassett. She's aptly named then, no wonder she's so sweet!

Is the black under the bonnet an undercoating?

She's zeibart rust proofed so it's nasty black under the bonnet. Other stuff discovered so far... She once had a Witter tow bar fitted. No rust but boot area missing trim and a mess. Original carpets unfaded, inside almost like new, mark on passenger seat back, consol and instrument panel partially dissembled not sure why.

Very little rust but paint generally worn out. Water leak suspected as little or no water in cooling system. All lights work. Starts and rev's cleanly. Nobody has spotted something visible in the under bonnet pic above.

The fan shroud is missing. Looks like you could have added a little water, driven her down to Mediterranean for holidays and back.

Funny how you dont see what isn't there! I hadn't noticed the shroud fitting missing. That's not it. Look again.

No special plans at the moment. just to make a nice car even nicer. Always been a big fan of that colour ever since I saw a Uk Tr8 in Aran beige at the TR register Int. back in the early 80's. Saw a stunning Beige Tr8 Fi Dhc for sale in California couple years ago that would have probably been my ultimate wedge. Most cars are a shade of red or a shade of green or blue or something but beige is, well beige! It's kinda typical '70's but also bang up to date. Occasionally seen on Porches.

Air con fan pulley.

I have the same on my 76 ACW five speed car which I've not told anyone about yet.

I think this is the first Aran Beige coupe that I've ever seen.

Great looking car. [:)]

Yes you have got the overseas market fan pulley with the grove for the air pump - odd for a UK spec car. My Solihull coupe does not have that but maybe they just grabbed whatever fan assembly was to hand on the line?

But what are those 3 bolts on the back edge of the front panel/bonnet shut?
