Well, I had just that in my TR8. Not worn, only a bit faded, but really grubby.
These are original green carpets, the pre formed type. So, what to do? I took the plunge & stripped out the interior, including the sill carpets. I got some biological but bleach free hand wash powder, mixed up a good solution in hand hot water in the bath, & in they went, piece by piece!
After a short soak & gentle scrub with a stiff brush, I was amazed at the dirt that was coming out. After just the sill pieces, the water was so filthy that I had to change it. I did the rest, with another change of water, then rinsed each piece under cold water from the shower. Then out over the washing line, all was dry in about 24 hours. The carpets have come up amazingly well, apart from slight fading in places they look like new.
With the carpets out, great opportunity to clean up the rest of the trim & inside the car plus waxoyl inside the sills & B posts. Carpets now fitted back in, very pleased with the huge improvement in the appearance of the interior.
PS don't forget to clean the bath afterwards[:)]
