ACG...MOT...

Postby gaz » 18 Aug 2012 06:29

My white one is in for mot at the moment and the guy at the garage say's
the indicators are working but not when the lights are on...
Any suggestions i assume they have attacked the obvious earth points bad connections etc.
My thought is with, it had running lights and side indicators above the bumper corners if these are left with no bulbs in would they cause this.
Over to you guy's

OK, you say "indicators"...
Is this what the rest of us call front parking lights (5W white, yellow in US) or is it the blinkers (21W amber)?

They are the ones that blink to indicate which way we are going...

Gaz check the wires of the running lights

look and see if they run down to the indicators

I personaly would not run these as indicators if they are cut the wire and then test

keep them to the side light circuit

I had a similar problem and traced it back to a bad earth connection. I suggest you check the earths carefully

I'd guess you've got grounding problems.
The front blinkers don't share anything with the amber (US type) side lights/indicators.
Well, if you haven't got a DPO wiring problem - then anything is possible...
