Don,
I am. I've been from Seattle to Coos Bay this week and only broken down twice. Hope to be in Forest Grove tonight.

For those of you who didn't make it, you missed a really great weekend of Triumphs, sunshine, winding roads, and wine. Of about 110 Triumphs, there were 5 TR8s and 3 TR7s. I had the pleasure of meeting Monica, who was there from California without her Wedge, and Wisconsin Spider-meister John Manske, also without his Wedge. There were some very interesting Triumphs in attendance, including the Kastner TR-250K race car, a Dolomite Sprint, and the best-of-show Mayflower. The ancient oaks on the Pacific University campus kept us fairly cool despite 100 degree weather on Saturday. I was wishing for air conditioning on the winery tour, though.

Ken,
Nice to meet you the other day. Yep, it was hot, but a good time was had by all. I have some pics that I'll try to post soon.

I met Monica in June last year in Portland on the way back from San Diego. I'm sorry I couldn't make it this year. Hope to be at ATDI next year as it's in BC (although not on the coast).

Ken, thanks for the photos. I'm really sorry I couldn't make it. I got my car running around noon Saturday and I just didn't want to deal with the heat and the air show traffic between here and there. That has to be the nicest Mayflower I've ever seen.

The heat was brutal for western Oregon. Dolly & I rented an air conditioned car for a Friday trip into Portland to visit relatives. On the winery tour, we spent more time in the air-conditioned tasting rooms than in the cars!

The Mayflower was gorgeous, and with a Spitfire engine it cruises at 60, according to its owner.

[:D] ATDI was a fantastic event, indeed! Well planned, beautiful cars, scenic tours, and friendly people ( stalkers, too [:I] ) hahaha. The weather was very warm, but of course out of the hands of 'rumphers. [:)]
Ken, I was tickled to meet you and lovely Dolly. Thanks for offering up your passenger seat on the wine run. It would have been cool to roll in your 8.[8D] Had John been a driver on my rental car, I would have gone wine tasting with you for sure!
Dan, it was fantastic to meet you and Dana, too. She is so fun and something tells me she and I could get ourselves in trouble together. [^] Don't forget to keep Marin County 2013 in mind. You can always follow the Mangans. [;)] Your car is gorgeous and is lucky to have you as its doting owner.
@ Don and Merv, I thought for sure ou guys would be there! Hope you guys, and your cars, are doing well. Either of you doing Triumphest in Flagstaff?

Sorry I missed you. I had considered going when Ken first mentioned it but being 3rd year into house renos, carpet ripped up, drywall bare, etc. etc. so much work yet to do and brother in law and niece visiting after Portland ABFM for extended time I felt I couldn't spare the time. It'll have to be another time.

Mean while, Comox OECC Filberg meet this Sunday (free bottle of wine), Dad's memorial service following week, Portland week after that, then next week Victoria Armed Services vehicle show (with British cars) at Air Museum the following week makes for a busy fall.

Monica, it was great to meet you. We had a nice weekend with the show and getting to see our daughter in Portland. Dana had a blast with you, so we'll keep in touch and we'll see you in Marin, if not before.

It was a great event. Nice to put a few more faces and names together. I wish Don, Merv, and Jim C could have made it since I won't be coming to the ABFM this year, but I do understand projects getting in the way sometimes. Wasn't sure WE were going to make it a couple of times, when my 8 took unscheduled breaks in Scappoose and Coos Bay.

The wine tour was fun, Monica, but an air-conditioned car would have been more comfortable. I don't know how I survived my childhood and youth in Forest Grove without air-con! It must be hotter now. And since I didn't get a picture of Dan with his car, I might have to post another photo from the banquet...

My saintly wife had a good time, too, and asked if we were going to go to the ATDI next year. Successful event indeed!
