Looks great! Even with a new cover mine is still not comfortable to put your arm on. That looks like it would be cozy.

Thanks all, it is comfy, and also sturdy. I'm pretty sure the 1/2" board will be a better fit. We'll see!

I bought some 1/4" landau foam for another project. If I ever get around to it, I'll try it on the 7's armrest.

All done! The hardwood floor scrap I had did the trick. The angle on the front is better this time too. I just attached the black metal piece with some trim screws and it works great!

The foam was just from scraps I found at the fabric store (JoAnn). It is green and 1/2" thick. Kinda spongy. It really was perfect for this, its thin enough to show the lines of the wood and still thick enough to be comfortable.
