Stevie I wish you luck, but do wonder why you have not all moved to Oz.

Winter here of course, but my forecast for today, Low 11C, High 22C.

We do occasionally get frosts, I did see -5C once, however many years we do not get below 6C or so all winter.

We can go for a couple of months in autumn/winter, with the only rain falling at night, with all the days sunny.

When are you coming? Bring the 7/7V8 with you, they are worth more here, definitely more than the cost of shipping, if it's a nice one.

Well, we have another lovely day down here in darkest Cornwall. The jet stream must be sitting over Scotland and the north of England. Let's hope the Northampton area has been missed but if not and we can't hold the full-blown national weekend we can still have a get together in the on-site car park for anyone that wants it.

Hopefully we can get a reasonable turn out of wedges at Malvern too. It would be nice to show the early TR enthusiasts what the good TR7s and TR8s look like as they are in such low numbers in the Register.

I like the Malvern idea.
Let's show the TR Register just how good the TR7 can look.
I'm up for it.

We've had loads of rain and wind here and the ground is just so wet.
You may have seen pictures of the Island and just how wet the ground
is. It doesn't take long to become a bog once people and cars
start moving around on it.

Fingers crossed all will be okay.

Roy

I am getting a little concerned for any event this summer. Malvern can have problems as well. Anyway I am exited by the idea of getting plenty of 7s and 8s there.

Let's hope for a dryish week and Billing should be OK.

Bad news, the TR Drivers club national weekend at Billing Aquadrome is cancelled. Sorry about this but the venue is really wet and unsuitable for camping.

Glad you said "according to Billing", up to half an hour ago when our man left there were no Capris in the field. Also they may get in the field but will struggle to get out.
We have not taken this decision lightly, it is the highlight of our TR year. We have been into Billing on a daily basis to check out the field for the last month.

That's a real shame Chris, I know you put a lot of effort into organising events for the TRDC, I'm sure you didn't take the decision lightly. I'll put my tent back in the loft until next year. [:(] Actually I might trade it in for a canoe! [:D]

Guys, sad news indeed. If anyone still fancies a trip to Northampton on the same weekend then you are more than welcome to join us on the Saturday / Sunday at Santa Pod for the Retro Show!!

www.retroshow.co.uk/index.html

Just 10 minutes or so from Billing, it will incorporate the TR Yoof Weekender plus a TR Register display during both days Sat / Sun with free tea and coffee, gazebo etc. I also have a limited number of car passes available so message me ASAP if you would like to put a TR on display! We had an all wedge line up last year so hopefully we can achieve the same again next weekend!

There is also camping and on site catering / entertainment on Saturday night if you fancy making a weekend of it.

Cheers

All

I have been visiting Billing over the past month to check on the condition of the field and as you can see by the pictures on the forum, which I took today, the field is not upto it.

Two weeks ago you could drive on to the field but as you can see from today you cannot even drive off the road on to the field.

As I drove in today I was told by Billing that the Capri club were in Puddleduck, so I thought great it must have improved but when I got to the field it was reserved but was also empty, bar ducks and geese.

The hosepipe ban started here on 6th April and it has not stopped raining since and Billing has even been evacuated due to flooding since then. Check "You Tube".

The forecast is for more heavy rain for the next week.

Like everyone I was looking forward to this years national, the friends, the banter, the cars.

Here's looking forward to 2013.

Simon

Very sad news indeed.

Where will Michelle and I get to wear our pirate costumes now?!!

Seriously though, I'm not surprised at the decision, it would've been a quagmire.

Let's all look forward to a sunny 2013 and the best national ever![:)]
