MGF Wheels

Hi, I am looking to fit a set of 15" MGF wheels, the early non VVC type and there is a clearence problem between the centre finishing cap with the logo and the dust cap on the front hub.
What is the best way to cure this as I have seen quite a few cars with these wheels.
Any sugestions much appreciated.

I am looking for a set of MGF whees too. This has been covered a few times so a search might help you. The 'problem' is that TR7 whhels are 'hubcentric', that is they are a snug fit on the centre part of the hub which locates the wheels (as opposed to others which are located by taper bolts). The centre hole of the MGF wheels is very slightly smaller than the TR7 hub so needs relieving slightly. Can't remember the amount (only about a mm I believe)but it is in the forum somewhere. Try measuring the hub and hole with a caliper.

I have a set of MGF wheels and tyres that came with my car but I fitted minilites, open to offers but I'm in Aberdeen

I just fitted MGF Wheels (6 spoke, 6"X15). They are a snug fit on the TR7 hubs but nothing needed machining. Make sure you get the nuts, as they are 25mm at the widest part of the taper, while most others are 22mm.

..as far as I know you need some special Nuts like the ford ones M12 x 1.5

Thanks for the offer, but I am in Tunbridge Wells, only 600 miles! When I used to go to Aberdeen I flew but they might not accept them as hand luggage.

On mine I cut off the lugs on the cap & ground a small amount of the plastic away so that the centre caps fitted over the dust cap. As you may have worked out by now there was nothing left to hold the centre caps in place, but an application of contact adhesive worked fine - I haven't lost a centre cap despite 10,000 miles of hard driving so can recommend this as a soloution.

hi i have a set of mgf with pirele tyres . 4 nuts 15 in open to offers . sorry £4.99 is not a good offer .?take care all.
