A sad site, two early 7's

I came across these two 76, 7's today.
The white one has factory AC.
They are going to be crushed soon. [B)]

The white one has the stripe kit that was used on the Victory Editions, but is lacking the vinyl roof and spoker wheels. It would be interesting for you to check and 'obtain' the glovebox, 'Victory Edition', plaque if it has one.

The blue one has a stripe kit like I've never seen. It would behoove you to liberate the left rear wheel cover as it has the now unobtainium wheel center badge that looks in decent condition.

I'd be down there stripping off stuff you can't get any more like the glove box lock (mine broke internally, more about that later) and trunk lock, Yellow TCT needs one. Lots of other parts that can be easily removed and are no longer available. I'd take a VB catalogue and some tools and have a good afternoon.

I was in a rush. If I have the time in the next few days I will go back to see what can be saved.

I have no desire to install A/C in any of my cars, but is there anything worth trying to save from the system? It looked like it was all there.

by all means, try for the complete tail-lite assemblies! very expensive &/or impossible to replace. a quick fetch with a 7 or 8 mm nut-driver. wish I was there to help- I can strip stuff like a madman in a situation like that![}:)]

Not too well up on the A/C parts but maybe the condenser radiator (in front of the coolant radiator) & it's brackets? Hoses if in good condition. As mentioned, the tail lights, wheel trim, original door mirror - all easy to get off. The glass looks to be all there so has the interior trim survived? Any good bits in there? Gas filler caps?

I am with learned friend Ron on that one, could alawys sell the really behond repair parts to another yard for scrap BUT as Roy says correctly over here seen a lot worse restored and saved to ride again. If you do go back would be great to know the chassis numbers to see how old they are, as look like Speke built cars what with the black back pannels, wheel trim and single hump bonnet on the blue one, would tow that one away for sure [8D], girl friend and daughters would kill me though, but hey MY mid life crisis not there's [:p]

And if all else fails grab me that wheel trim !!!

To air condition my 7 I needed an under dash A/C ventilation unit.

I paid $500 for that & the compressor mounting bracket alone. It had come in on a US import, being set up for competition. We didn't get too many A/C 7s here.

I don't know how many other fools there are in the world, but there must be some.

Knobs, switches, lots of stuff can be quickly pulled off and not take up too much storage space. If we had a star trek transporter you'd have lots of help.[:)]
