wheel studs

Hello everyone,
I have been thinking about the studs on my TR7v8, they are standard as far as I know,
Will they withstand 15" alloys and 200bhp?
Is there a recommended upgrade?
I want to put motorsport friendly open ended nuts on them, can anyone suggest what I should ask for if they are standard studs?

Hi,

Are you thinking of motorsport with your 7V8?

I haven't heard of a problem with the studs themselves. There's been some comments about the front wheel bearings not being man enough though ........

I've had the V8 in my 7 for over 20 years and had no issue with the studs on 14" or 15" alloys with approx 225bhp but its only been road use so far. I feel a track day beckoning..........

No Door Stickers. Mine since July 1986, V8 from 1991 courtesy of S&S V8 conversion and big brake kits.

Thanks guys,
Adam I'm thinking a spot of sprinting and hill climbing once I get the car safe.

New bushes all round, electrics, steering rack, front struts ,new front bearings(got those already Adam).

A bit of a step up in power from the Bond Equipe I sprint at the mo.

Yes it is, haven't done any this year yet, want to persuade the wife to let me borrow her 206 GTi but for some reason, she won't let me, if I get time on the TR7 I can do the suspension at the back and the front subframe bushes to make it at least safe to drive. The wirng will have to be done properly and paid for appropriately, thinking of going to a reputable triumph specialist for that because not much gets past the scrutineers (thankfully) when you go sprinting.
