The Forum seems a little quiet of late, anyone else noticed?

yes John I've thought that of late.

Let's hope it's just because people are out in the garage
preparing or working on their cars for the coming season rather than
losing interest.

I think the problem is that helping each other for so long now, we have got our cars too well fettled. [:D] They are getting so reliable we don't have so much to call for help with. [^]

Actually hasbeen i think that really sums it up and the number of new Tr7 owners have dwindled

Many of the most freaquent problems have been covered, but what is interesting is the amount of un-earthed video's and articles that keep cropping up

Also what i also find interesting with the advent of Ebay is the custom cars and some of the kits and specials that give us now the insight we could never had got years ago

On the whole I agree with Hasbeen, most of the issues that we encounter with the cars from time to time have been discussed at length, with some really useful info, tips & tricks.

Interesting cars and parts do appear sometimes on the market or found by Forum members, & of course new owners often want help & advice, but the regular contributors on here are a relatively small number of people. I think many more "lurk" but rarely, if ever, post on the forum.

So lets hear from some of you lurkers! What you got hidden away in your garage?

I have learned an enormous amount about these cars by reading these forums. I seldom reply with suggestions of solutions to problems as I still have so much to learn compared to the real experts that frequent here and they have been very generous with there knowledge and experience.
Also, since the search function has been speeded up, I have been doing some research and saving many threads for future use.
The one thing I would like to see though (and I realize it's asking a LOT) is if someone was going to do a V6 conversion, to document it every step of the way and post their experiences and pictures as they do the swap. There have been some that started doing so, but I have yet to see a complete beginning-to-completion V6 swap thread. I've been thinking of doing one for years but have never even started the process (shame on me!).

Im on most days for a look but there is never anything local and until the weekend I thought I must be the only member here from Aberdeen, on sunday I was on a classic run and there was 4 sevens, 3 V8 and one 2.0L but one of the Stag owners knew I was Dycecooper from here [:)]

I got a new windscreen fitted on Monday and the guy fitting it told me he had just done a seven the week before.

Perhaps we are expanding up here

I lurked for the first few weeks but quickly started asking questions in 2006 when I threw myself headlong into getting ready for the "from out of country" safety check which happened in summer of 2007. Learning very quickly, my questions turned to help as my experience with the car quickly grew. A little humour here and there thrown in for variety.

Currently in the middle of clutch change (waiting for parts) with transmission out. Will post my easy one man solution for lowering from bottom in near future. Going to get very busy readying car for Van Dusen 2012. Every year seems crunch time as I leave winter projects to spring then run out of time. Winter also reserved for house reno's (in second year).

Hopefully the forum will continue to grow with newbie's so we can pass on our experience. This forum is very helpful along with Spitfire Magazines one with out the crap you find on other car forums. What is about British car owners? Why can't other manufacturer car forums have the civility.

I seem to have been busy working on the cars since our new garage was completed, My TR8 FHC and convertible are now ready for the road, MOTd and to be taxed next week. With 25x30 ft and 4 post ramp its much easier to work on the cars.
Also done a few outings with the Coca Cola car, the fish and chip run to Cleethorpes, round the Derbyshire dams run and Stuart Gawthorpes wedding mean that I am getting close to my mileage limit of 3000.

Possibly some in the UK are waiting for the sun to come out like me. Should be back on the road May 1st but weather does not look too optimistic at the moment. Added to which all the good intentions to replace the rotten front strut gaiters and bump stops (again) and rear suspension bushes came to nothing over the winter lay up period. MOT might be interesting this year!

I'm still here, afraid the TR hasnt turned a wheel lately as I have been busy restoring my 81 GPz550 twin shock back to 'as new' and I also bought my dream bike which is a 1983 Z1000R Lawson, this is the next bare frame restoration.
