Film & TV

Postby trekcarbonboy » 02 Apr 2012 14:46

I found this in the TR Register Forum and thought I would re-post it here. Lets get some more 7/8's on TV.

We are a company called Wheel2Reel Ltd supplying vehicles for TV and Film. We are currently working on a TV series called the “Antiques Road Tripâ€￾ and the “Celebrity Antiques Road Tripâ€￾ which are showing now on BBC2.
We have been commissioned by Scottish TV to do another two series and are looking for a variety of Classic convertible cars to hire. This is our second year now of supplying vehicles for this programme and we are looking for a total of 32 classic convertibles that are fully road legal being MOT certificated with tax and being in a presentable condition.
On the “Celebrity Antiques Road Tripâ€￾ your vehicle would be used for three days. This is broken up into two days of buying antiques and filming and then one day at an Auction.
Your vehicle would be required for the three days filming (dates yet to be confirmed) Two days will be consecutive but the Auction date could be up to two weeks later.
Your vehicle would be collected and transported by us to the locations and the vehicle would be driven by a “Celebrityâ€￾ and one of the presenters. It will be looked after by our vehicle technician whilst on set.
The “Celebrity Road Tripâ€￾ is still in the production phase so I cannot give you any firm dates or which Celebrity would be driving your vehicle at this stage.
We will pay £100.00 per day for the hire of the vehicle over the three days totalling £300.00.
Your vehicle will be valeted and filled up with fuel at the end of the three days.

For the “Antiques Road Tripâ€￾ it would entail hiring the vehicle for ten days in a period over two months for either series starting in May until June or from July through to September.
We would pay £1000.00 for the hire of the vehicle. The vehicle is transported to and from locations on a low loader and is driven by the presenters whilst filming so there is limited mileage and wear and tear on the vehicle.
After use the vehicle would be valeted and returned to you with a full tank of petrol.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide you with photographs of you vehicle with the presenters or celebrities until the program has been aired but we would be able to provide you with these at a later stage.

Please feel free to contact us on 07590697119 or email us matt@wheel2reel.com and thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully we will be hearing from you soon.

Many thanks
Matthew Weekes

I'd say anyone who puts their car up for this must be bonkers! Unless you're desperate for £300 and your car is worth sod all, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Good info there Beans. Based on some of that info I certainly wouldn't lend out my car.
