Add quotes 1200+ Spiders built, often thought to be production out of Canley. Bill Piggott's book states about 2,000 (I think based on serial number range). Which would make Solihull production at 800. Most Spiders I've seen/read about are Solihull products. Maybe because they had better under car treatment/preparation?

Solihull cars didn't have better treatment or preparation they all had the same protection (Speke, Canley, Solihull). None.

Hi,

Emailed the gent, apparentley the 74 car is in Tahti Blue and currently in storage pictures will be supplied to anyone serious buyers, i wish i was in that catagory!!

Would like to know the chassis numbers. There were a fair amount of 1974 TR7 LHD cars built. Does it have an X9xx number? or ACL?

The TR8 has US plates from what I can see and an after market sunroof.

The Spider has had a retrim of sorts and a change of stripes by the look of the pictures.

Could all 3 have been sourced in the US by the seller? Need a little more info than claims of "this" and claims of "that".

Dubious to say the least, advert for the TR8 FHC says;
• First owner;
• licence plate is clearly from the US;
• It's location is in Kent (GB?)
• And the telephone number is in the Netherlands (TR7/8 Shop to be precise)
The blue "preproduction" TR7 has been for sale earlier, not sure about that either.
But all easy to check with the VIN ...

Or am I just a little paranoid [:p]

I seem to remember "last TR8 Coupe to be built" being on ebay USA couple months ago. Pretty original and decent car but wasn't there so doubt about the "last" claim as there are a couple of higher chassis numbers known to exist? If this is that car, I also seem to remember a Spider with those seats.. sad or what?

I have records that indicate TCN160145 was owned by someone in Holland in 1994, and very near to where the current car is for sale. I'm betting that it is the same. Go back to your 1994 TR8CCA members list, which was published in the newsletter and it is there.

My Spider does have a type of paint/undercoating) that is factory as all the underpinnings are on top of it including a strip of dried out tape (that is found through out the car (to hold down wire looms etc.) near the shifter area This has gone a long way to keep the under carriage rust free and looking like new. There was an undercoating in wheel wells and under sills that I scrubbed the road grunge off of and augmented that may well have been applied after factory. I know the car spent it's life in Sacramento which I've been admonished in this forum "IS NOT A DESERT," with it's 170 inches of rain (sure looks it to us nor'westers). The car was driven by former owner as a business vehicle (every day) for at least a period of it's life so was not exactly babied in that sense. I've yet to look under the Canley Yellow TCT to see how it compares.

The windscreen has fine markings from wind blown sand/driving into sand kicked up by vehicles ahead that you can only see when driving into the sun. I wonder if all desert (sorry) cars have that.
