Hello guys and girls,
My TR7V8 restoration project is as good as finished and the next thing to do is to get the car homologated so it can get on the road again. (homologation= changing car documents from 2 liter 4 cylinder in to 3.5 liter 8 cylinder)
As said before the rules for MOT in Belgium are very strict and without the right documents it’s impossible to get the car on the road.
One of the documents I need is an engine heritage document (if such exists?).
I’ve been looking at the Rimmer V8 parts catalogue and I know by the engine number (10A44775) the engine belonged to a SD1 with manual gearbox and 9.35:1cr and has been built between 1976 and 1987.
But I need official facts and figures also the official engine horsepower and torque need to be stated.
Is there an organization in England that can provide me such an official engine heritage document ?
I know English people are great in such things!

Could you use a SD1 owners manual which will specify the figures, or an SD1 sales brochure.

Hi Paul,

No I can't; manuals or brochures are not allowed as official documents in this case but you made me thinking; a document with engine specifications signed by an official dealer maybe acceptable.
I will give a locale LR dealer a call and ask them what they can do for me.
I'm not very hopefull though as we don't tend to keep registers like they do in the UK.

I was also thinking about importing it to England and have it MOT'ed and registered there.
Then again import it to Belgium with an Europeen conformity attest.
But I'm not sure if this is achievable (what are the UK laws concerning this) and does it need extra homologation in Belgium. (normaly this should work as England is part of the EU)

Many questions and doubts...
