Project TR7 <£1k

Postby Hoops » 28 Sep 2011 09:47

Hi All, its be a while since i was last in TR7 ownership with my Premium. I have another car now so dont need a 7 for everyday use, and i might be in the position to buy a car that needs a few bits doing.
Prices seem to have risen a little since i sold the TR7, could i still get a runner for £700ish (what i paid for my old Premium from Chris Turner)?
I have a garage now so if its off the road for a little its not much of a problem.
Is this a still a reasonable amount for a FHC TR7, ideally with a webasto sunroof and MOT?

Cheers, Rob

Rob, that doesn't sound unreasonable, there was a whute one recently available on the websites(no connection) that looked sound bodily and was suffering from annoying issues with the gearbox and other stuff.
Calvin

What's that coming over the hill? Is it a monster?

I all, I am still thinking about a relatively cheap 7, prices still seem to be high, considering its winter.
Is it still unreasonable to get a MOT'd TR7 for under £1k?
It would have to be a FHC as well.

Ta, Rob [:D]

Hi Hoops,

As John say's not many FHC for sale as not many left and those of us lucky enough to have a half decent one want to keep it! , a quick browse of the normal for sale sites i could only find 2 for sale and both extremes of price and at a guess condition -

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C226337

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3328399.htm

May be worth giving Steve up at S+S Prep and Simon at Robsport and see what they have and leave contact details so if they here of anything out there -

Like it Simon, nice one.

Looks a real bargain at that price.

I hope you lose the front spoiler though,
the early cars look so much better without it.

You're getting quite a collection now.

That looks really good, I look all the time to find early coupes for sale and they just aren't popping up these days, maybe a good thing considering my bank balance [:D]

All the best, Paul

Hoops, somebody on Retro Rides (Steveaustin1300)is selling a FHC with tax & test for £500, looks reasonably tidy too. Interesting colour combo though. I am not clever enough to add links, but certainly worth a look.

I'm sure the owner of that car was on this forum recently.
I don't think he's had it long. [V]

Good home needed.
