Yes, that would be TR7 heaven.

But any FHC would be just fine by me not just the Speke cars.

This has got me thinking out of the three factories, Speke, Canley, and Solihull which FHC is the rarest.

I guess most of you will say Solihull because of the relativley low numbers built.
But you do seem to see a few around at events and if you see a decent FHC for sale more often than not it's a Solihull example.

I would say the Speke cars even with the build quality issues are still around in fair numbers due to the sheer numbers built.
But good examples being very thin on the ground.

Does this make the Canley FHC the rarest of all ?

Well I've got 2 x FHC and 1 x DHC so in my house there's twice as many fixed heads [:D]

5:1 ratio here. Although soon to be 4:1 if I get myself into gear over Christmas. Two Speke, not sure where the others were built.

It says its a 1977 car so that makes it Speke I would think.

Nice looking early car in a nice colour on Pistonheads. Lots of money for a fixed Head, but who's to say it isn't worth it?

Have to admit i have dismantled three but still have one of each some i'm guilty of depleting the numbers i'm afraid 2 were premiums [:(]

It took me about two years to find the near rust free hard top I eventually purchased. In that time, I saw a lot more drop tops than hard tops.

I would like a very late model FHC. But it's got to be original & in very good condition, also I only like a few colour/trim combos. I've not seen seen anything suitable for sale all year.

and just to be the opposite of Andy .........
I'd love to find (don't tell the wife [;)]) a cheap automatic coupe.
My oldest daughter will be driving next year, and since she's followed me most of her life to shows and meets ect....it could be cool for her to have her "own' FHC [}:)]

...I forgot - I wanted an automatic too, but those can be tough to find and when coupled to a 90hp engine, not exactly the quickest machine on the road. I don't mind a manual transmission (I've driven them all my life) but an automatic would allow my wife to drive the car too.


On second thought, maybe a manual tranny is really the way to go...[:D]

I like the look of the FHC advertised below but sounds like it wants a full paint which in turn would be engine out to do the bay and the costs start to spiral.
