It's great to see it looking so good again, but getting it there made absolutely no economic sense! With the amount insurance paid, plus my out of pocket for the rest of the paint job I don't even want to think about it.... [:(][xx(]

Economic sense? I don't recall seeing that in the TR7 owners handbook...

Well,I have to agree with that! But even in a TR sense, I'll never be sure it was the right thing to do. I probably could have gotten a decent TR8 or a spectacular TR7 for the same amount, and had a really good parts car to pull things from. Now I have the spectacular TR7, without the parts car!

Maybe someday I'll be able to just appreciate it and not think about the cost. As a sailing friend says: Owning a sailboat is like staying awake all night, standing in a cold shower, tearing up hundred dollar bills. I think some version of that applies to a collector car too, laying on your back on a cold concrete floor with oil dripping in your face.

Top down on a sunny day you'll not regret it. It's a fabulous colour and you'll never meet another like it in day to day driving. I think colour plays a bigger part in things than we realise. I had a UK spec Rhd TR8 but Metallic Bordeax just didn't do it for me!
