I will take it out and decide then what I will do .
It seems easier to cut it in half and then welded back together.
as Odd showed us.
Just need a cut and then get it to a welder .

The cleaning and coating seems to messy.

If I could get an aluminun generic FI I might just go that way.
I'll keep you guys informed .

You will make sure that there's not a hint of any gas fumes in that tank before you introduce any sparks won't you?[:0]

The coating isn't messy, it just drains out the bung back into the original can (see my sideshow link).

Not so with the cleaning part of it. Being in a rural setting I sometimes forget the challenges for our city brotheren. The city fathers probably won't look kindly on pouring that stuff down the drain. Not good for the alligators in the swamp.[:p]

There are a few more photos on the TWOA FI fuel tank photo album (see Odd's post for the link). I worry a lot about using a coating and having it clog up the tiny 1/4 inch fuel fill hole in the swirl pot! It's looking like my recently cleaned and coated FI fuel tank has to come out yet again. This time no local guy it going to do it, I'll probably send it away someplace. Any recommendations near Santa Fe, NM?

I can't remember if I had a piece of wire through it which I removed later or if I poked a hole in it before complete cure or if it never closed. The only way you have complete control of quality is if you do it yourself. Why do you have to remove it again? What happened?
