I have seen a very well built example of one of these years ago, and I really like it, very [8D]
Biggest challenge with this kit is that you have to add a few inches of wheelbase ...

Personally, I would never go that route. If I wanted a replicar I would go with the many options the are (were) available to the Beetle pan with it's many power options from rotary to souping of original power plant that would take out most cars on the street or those requiring a custom space frame. Not sure about requirements around the world but here in BC there is a U built licence available for the kits requiring frame up builds.

I have seen daytona kits based on corvettes that were very cool. Actually, I think the one used on the "Miami Vice" tv show was a corvette based replica.
