BMW 525 Seats

Postby Vegas_M » 25 Oct 2011 00:34

Anyone ever try fitting a set of seats from a 90's BMW 525? I can get the below set for about $100.

Haven't seen them yet, but hope to in the next day or so.
Thoughts?

It seems to me that if you will go through the trouble of installing new seats, you might pick some sexier seats. But then, if you are going for the original look, those look period appropriate :)

Hi,

Never seen a set fitted and a guess may be too tall, depending on your hight, not mention wide. BMW drivers can have big ar53s !!!
At a guess a set of Z3 seats could be made to fit, base manual ones not electric, which could be done but keep it simple. Are they out of a E34 or E39, at a guess E34 with those arm rests.

Personaly find the standard seats great, although would like leather in the DHC

Cheers John

I'd really like leather and would prefer the period look. But, as you say, some BMW drivers do require rather wide seats.... Will have to check the width of my stock seats before I go to look at these.

Great pictures of seats, TR8, but no description of where the non-obvious ones came from. Any hints available? [:D]

Those are all my albums, check them all out, most are TR7/8. i didn't label them, but do know where some came from, I should label them better but they have been up so long I hate to change the links as somewhere pictures will disappear.

Paul,

So the MX Recaro seats above are from what car originally? A Mazda MX? or is it a Recaro model designation?

Thx.
